RPG Chartered Financial Planners have once again been named in the Citywire New Model Adviser Top 100 listing for 2021.
“We are delighted that our continuing work to grow and develop both our practice and our people has been recognised by the team at Citywire New Model Adviser” commented Phill Owen, Managing Director of RPG Chartered Financial Planners.
The New Model Adviser Top 100 represents research and analysis into the full spectrum of financial advisory firms. They look for evidence of factors such as well-qualified staff, robust investment propositions, carefully segmented client bases, good use of technology, willingness to share best practice, client education, recruitment and contribution to professional standards.

RPG prefers steady expansion to rocketing growth. This year it has developed a new client onboarding programme to improve the experience.
It has taken on an apprentice and two trainees and employed a marketing specialist and a business consultant to check its business plan.
Succession planning is another priority at RPG and this year it has launched a shadow adviser initiative.
‘The trainees will spend between three and five years shadowing a chartered adviser before we let them loose as a solo adviser,’ director John Sangster said.
‘This allows us to mould them into the type of adviser we want, sets a clear roadmap to competent adviser status, and gives clients time to adjust to a new face. This is part of our five- to 10-year succession plan.’
It is a sporty team and outside work Sangster enjoys cycling and watching Tranmere Rovers, while fellow directors Phillip Owen and Anthony O’Connor coach football and hockey teams.
