We were delighted to welcome colleagues from both RPG offices in Manchester and St Asaph to our annual RPG Away Day. This yearâs event took place at the Manchester Marriott Victoria & Albert Hotel, bringing the whole team together for a day focused on learning, collaboration, and team building.
The Away Day is a key date in the RPG calendar, designed to provide an opportunity to reflect on progress and strengthen relationships across the firm.
The day began with a presentation from our Group Managing Director, Jonathan Brownson, who reflected on our recent achievements, provided an update on the business, and shared plans for the months ahead. It was also an opportunity to recognise several colleagues for their outstanding contributions to the firm.
This was followed by a session led by Group Board Director and Head of Operations, Ben Brownson, focusing on working and communication styles. The session encouraged colleagues to reflect on how they work most effectively, helping to build a better understanding of different approaches within teams.
In the afternoon, the focus shifted to team building, with an interactive âPitstop Challengeâ delivered by Bright Vision Events. Colleagues were split into teams and tasked with designing and building a miniature racing cart, making the most of their time, materials and teamwork. The activity concluded with a race, as everyone gathered around the track to put their creations to the test. The challenge proved to be a highlight of the day, enjoyed by participants across the firm. Congratulations to Jonathanâs team on taking home the medals.
The event was attended by colleagues from across the business, and we were particularly pleased to welcome several new team members, including individuals who joined ahead of their official start dates. The day gave them a valuable introduction to RPG and the opportunity to meet future colleagues in a relaxed and engaging setting.
Feedback from the day was very positive, with many colleagues highlighting the benefit of spending time with people from different teams and departments, as well as the value of taking part in activities outside of the usual working environment.
The Away Day provides a great opportunity to strengthen connections across both offices and build relationships that support our collaborative culture. The day concluded with a drinks and canapés reception, giving everyone further time to catch up and unwind together.
